Sight Words Flashcards
Flashcards are printed cards with words on them. They can be used
when teaching reading in a variety of different ways. For example,
the teacher may simply ask student whether they can read a particular card,
or sentences can be spelled out by arranging the cards.
Pre-printed flashcards are available from many publishers, and many
are based on sight words lists (in some cases including the
Dolch Sight Words list). Additionally, some flashcard sets may include
cards containing pictures, pictures and letters/words, and these are
also used in teaching reading.
Suitability:
These types of activities are suitable for:
- Kindergarten
- K-12 Education
- English as a Second Language classes ("ESL").
